Orion The Hunter! Above Lone Oak Tree March 2010

Orion The Hunter! Above Lone Oak Tree March 2010
First bit of good weather we've had for a while so had a go at some widefield astrophotography. I was surprised at the amount of light pollution we have here, this must be the glow from Newark. I lit the tree up with a torch and may have overdone it a bit, but ok for a first attempt, and considering the 30 minute hike into the middle of some nearby fields! Taken with Canon 50d and Canon 28mm lens at ISO 1000 and a 25 second exposure.
