Badger (Meles meles)

Another picture from my latest badger trip. These images where shot with my homemade diffuser over the flash. Not an easy night, it appears that they where tempted out during daylight hours by the guy who joined me at the sett last time and most did not venture out in the evening, I presume they where still full from the peanuts he put down. This raises an important issue that we need to consider when baiting for any animal. The animals should not become reliant on the food you put down. After I have finished taking pictures I will make a number of visits and gradually decrease the amount of feed I take, thereby allowing the animals to be 'weened' off this feed.
